The halls of Sharada Gyanpeeth International School, Malad recently buzzed with an atmosphere of scientific fervor and intellectual curiosity as we proudly hosted the P Ward Science Exhibition for three exhilarating days 7th, 8th and 9th December, 2023 filled with innovation, exploration, and the celebration of young minds delving into the fascinating world of science.
School opened its doors to an array of bright minds from 167 schools, welcoming them to showcase their scientific prowess and innovative projects. The event served as a melting pot of ideas, where students unleashed their creativity through captivating dis-plays, experiments, and presentations. SGIS adorned nothing less than a festive look with huge colorful and informative banners on the theme ‘Science and Technology for Society.
The inaugural day witnessed an atmosphere charged with excitement and anticipation as the project on global warming marked the commencement of this grand scientific extravaganza. Workshop and seminar were also conducted on the topics of health and nutrition – Millet the miracle food for the future and on the journey of rocketry. Renowned experts and professionals from various scientific domains imparted valuable insights, enriching the minds of eager young learners. The judges had a massive task in hand as the projects occupied three enormous floors under the sub-themes of health, lifestyle for environment, agriculture, communication and transport, and computational thinking.
The three days featured the august presence of Dr Sharada Prasad Sharma, chairman of SGIS, vice chairman Ajay Sharma, Sudha Sharma, MK Chaube member of school management committee, principal Dr Shusmita Sawant, vice-principal Smitha lyer and pre-primary head Minoo Asgolkar.
Eminent personalities JD Sharma, scientific officer BARC, RS Naikwadi ex-director Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Sandip Patil, assistant deputy education inspector ‘P’ ward, Dr Aniket Sule, associate professor president of international Olympiad on astronomy and astrophysics, Riyaz Khan, chief convener-P ward, committee members of P ward and child actor Pallas Prajapati graced the occasion.
As we bask in the glory of this achievement, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the participating schools, principals, chief convener, conveners of P Ward, committee members of P ward, guests, judges and students who contributed to making this event a resounding success.
Rithika Gounder of grade 9 SGIS, captivated many hearts with her eloquent summary of the event that took place on the three days.
Master Purab Pankaj Kataria reached the district level elocution competition. The topic was Impact of Micro plastics on Marine Ecosystems and Human Health’. Not only did our students Master Darshan Somani and Master Om Jamsandekar actively participated, but they also clinched the second prize in the senior group cate gory. The project was based on the methods for preventing accidents in the railways. Moreover, this accolade has propelled our school to the Zonal level.
Amidst the showcasing of groundbreaking scientific projects, our school not only curated an outstanding Science exhibition but also bagged the prestigious 2nd prize for Organizing the P ward Science exhibition successfully.
Beyond the innovative projects on display, our school’s meticulous planning, the dedication and hard work of our students, teachers, Coordinators, administrative staff and support staff played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this grand scientific spectacle.
We are immensely proud to have not only hosted a remarkable exhibition but also to have been acknowledged for our commitment to executing it with precision and excellence.
